Dutton-Goldfield Winery is pleased has announced the hiring of James McCeney as their new associate winemaker. Under the direction of owner/winemaker Dan Goldfield, James will be intimately be involved in all aspects of winemaking from pre-harvest to bottling.
Prior to joining Dutton-Goldfield, James was owner of Bridges Wine Company in Pittsburgh, PA; Assistant Winemaker at Patz & Hall in Sonoma; and Assistant Winemaker at Acacia Vineyards in Napa. He has also worked at wineries in Burgundy, New Zealand and Australia. James holds degrees in Environmental Geology from Boston College and Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis. He passed the theory portion of the Master of Wine exam in 2016 and is studying hard to pass the practical component.

Dutton-Goldfield Winery is an independent, locally owned winery based in the California’s famed Russian River Valley. The winery was founded in 1998 when grape grower Steve Dutton and winemaker Dan Goldfield joined forces to produce terroir-driven wines using fruit selected from the Dutton family’s 80 Russian River vineyards as well as other cold coastal sites in Northern California. While the winery specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Dan and Steve also produce small quantities of Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Syrah and Zinfandel. Every Dutton-Goldfield wine is balanced, structured, complex, food worthy and sustainable.
