ProWein to Celebrate 25th Anniversary in 2019

ProWein 2019, International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, will celebrate its 25th anniversary with 6,800 exhibitors from around the world. All major winegrowing regions will be represented, with exhibitors ranging from fine boutique estates to major bulk-wine producers hosting tasting sessions and seminars at their stands. In addition, nearly 400 spirits producers will showcase their specialties. Prowein will take place from March 17–19, 2019 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Attendees taste wine and listen in on seminars at exhibition booths at ProWein.

Other highlights will include special exhibit areas such as the Champagne Lounge—with 40 producers participating—as well as the Organic World where leading international organic wine associations and numerous producers will feature their wines.

The topic of craft drinks will be taken up again after the successful premiere last year of the Same but Different exhibit. The exhibit has been renewed, offering a dedicated space for innovations related to craft beer, craft spirits, and cider. Over 100 exhibitors from about 20 countries will be present. This year, zero waste cocktails will be a major focus.

ProWein does not only introduce new vintages but also serves as a wine education platform about current trends in the international wine and spirits sector. Trend scouts Stuart Pigott and Paula Redes Sidore will present an overview of the latest wine trends at moderated tastings. Topics will include “High Altitude Wines,” the Renaissance of “Field Blends,” and the varieties “Chenin Blanc & Gamay.” They will also cover the growing role of “Wine in Cans” on many international sales markets.

ProWein’s online magazine at www.prowein.com will feature these topics prior to the trade fair, including exhibitor information. The online magazine will also highlight the latest spirits trends and point out the corresponding exhibitors. Among the themes will be: “Home & Hygge,” “The New Aperitif Culture,” “No Waste,” and “Craft Beer.”
